Spritually speaking, what does one actually mean by '' accepting the gays''?

well i keep hearing people go on and on about ''accepting the gays'' and treating them equally, but what i don't understand is this, how are the gays not accepted? i see that the gays are bullied, well good, so are straight people. i see the gays have parties, they have jobs, they have friends, they do make sure to throw it in everyones faces that they have sex, and that they like it. good, thats all good, so maybe i'am missing the point here? not reallly sure how the gays aren't accepted, if you asked me i'd say they are highly favored. almost every television show and entertainment artist endorsed homosexuality, i think they are even trying to push a new law for gays, pretty soon if you say one rude thing to a gay, you will be like fined or thrown in jail? so don't quote me on it, just something i believe i read a few weeks back. so how are the gays not accepted again? and again, what do you consider accepting or not accepting? personally my christianity does not allow me to have a friendship with gays, god says that i shouldn't surround myself with un-godly people, i'am not jesus, i'am only a sinner saved by grace myself! god says that i should be wise. i love the gays, but from a distance.
