Why is it there is almost a link between part of the republican party and?

Religion? and Is it possible to go against the radical religious side of conservative politics and not be accused of hating Christianity and conservatives? before reading the rest of this realize i am talking about "radical christianity" not regular christianity... it doesn't seem so, i mean is it so wrong to not like the group of people trying to undermine our society and our educational system by pushing religion and separate them from the actual sane conservatives? nothing against Christianity in fact i used to be a christian, but i have everything against anyone who wants to push any religion in politics... because we have separation of church and state, i wouldn't even want the one religion i practice being active in politics, i mean think of it this way would you want islam muscling its way in here if it suddenly became the majority? people like to claim christianity is a majority religion but that doesnt justify attempting to violate federal law by trying to push religion in politics like some radicals do... i mean believe it or not no one is saying "your kids cant pray in school" they are saying "the school cant be involved in these prayers because that would be the united states government endorsing a religion" no one is saying "you cant display symbols of your religion on the holidays" they are saying "you cant do it on a courthouse or any other government property" because again that would be endorsing a religion it really makes sense when you look at it we want everyone to be free and equal to worship how they please, how would you feel if you walked into a courthouse and saw the star and crescent moon hanging up and an excerpt from the Koran posted on the wall? wouldnt you be a little upset then? you have to think of things from many perspectives... believe it or not just because the united states population is majorly christian does not make the united states a "christian nation" because we have no established religion, we are simply "a nation that has many christians and many other religions also" just curious why is there this link between social conservatives and religion? and is it a threat to practicers of any religion outside of christianity?
