Why do conservatives want to have limited govt in economic matters but big govt in personal matters?

Not all but the majority of conservatives hate welfare, govt ran health care, agencies like the EPA, govt regulation of business and business practices. Yet the same people endorse the drug war, bans on same sex marriage, filtered content on television and radio, bans on pornography. how can you have a limited govt with massive moral legislation?
