I need to restore my ipod?

itunes says i need to restore my ipod but if i do it says this "Are you sure you want to restore the iPod "Emma's iPod" to it's factory settings? All of your media and other data will be erased and the newest version of the iPod software will be installed.' does it mena it will delete everything from just my ipod or my itunes?
