Health Insurance Reimbursement Check?

I am still under my fathers insurance and recently had surgery that I paid for. I just got the reimbursement check from the insurance company, however it's made out to my father. Could I have my father endorse the insurance check over to me? or will he have to deposit it and then write me a personal check?
